No One Told Me it Would Lead to This
What led to the title “No One Told Me it Would Lead to This”, was that with batik, my medium of expertise, I had never worked on anything but fabric. I fancied seeing what would or could happen with dye and wax on watercolour paper. With this series, by leaving a great deal of what I knew behind, I chanced it and really didn’t recognize the person who emerged on the other side. No one told me it would lead to this. No one told me that something like this could come of creating and using the sharp edge of experience, which some 40 years provides, in a completely different way.
