"Embracing" reflects the moon hugging Peggy's Cove Lighthouse (neither of which were visible) on the night Swiss Air 111 and her 229 souls crashed into the Atlantic outside Halifax, NS in 1998. The rescue operations started almost immediately with fishermen near Chester going out and finding a gruesome site (sic) of debris and body parts. I've created this piece a few times, but in this version, I can see some faces when dwelling on it. I love batik for that feature. (Batik on ginwashi tissue paper, 24x24"). 2024. Asking $750 obo.
